Did anyone see the Junior dos Santos and Mirko Cro Cop fight? It was an awesome fight that basically showed dos Santos dominate the legendary striker.

‘Dos Santos Get the Job Done’ Junior ‘Cigano’ dos Santos beat Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic Saturday night at UFC 103.

On a night filled with early stoppages that were contested by a lot of the fighters, one of few undisputed stoppages was in the form of a Junior dos Santos beat down. Dos Santos verbally submitted Cro Cop in what seemed to be a fight of who had the better stand up.

The first round was an extremely close round, with both fighters landing their fair share of shots on each other. By the end of the first round, dos Santos was starting to swell in the face, but he left Cro Cop with a nice little welt on the left side of his head.

The second round seemed to be going almost perfectly for the young Brazilian and Bad Boy fighter. Sure Cro Cop landed a couple solid blows to the legs, body, and head, he even rocketed a few unsuccessful head kicks, but none of it seemed to phase dos Santos. In fact dos Santos stalked Cro Cop the entire match like a lion does with its prey.

The third round was an absolutely vicious display by dos Santos. Even though the Bad Boy fighter has finished all of his fights in the first round, it seemed like Cro Cop was the one that was winded, and dos Santos took full advantage of it. He laid some good punches on Cro Cop, but it wasn’t unstill a destructive knee to the body that you could tell he was hurt. Dos Santos noticed this as well and pounced.

As soon as dos Santos noticed, he started landing more knees and finally a right upper-cut that left the Croatian saying he couldn’t see. When shown on replay, it was shown that the upper-cut landed directly on the eye of Cro Cop, and may have very well fractured his eye socket.

Dos Santos beat a crowd favorite at his own game, not only beat him, but made hime say he quit. When asked about who he wanted to fight next, he said he would take on whoever the UFC wanted him to fight.
