Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos is going to be facing off against Marloes ‘Rubina’ Coenen on January 30, at Strikeforce: Miami. It will not only be the first title defense for Cyborg, but it will be the first ever Strikeforce Women’s Lightweight Championship defense. This match-up of differing styles will be one for the history books.Remeber to make sure you change !!USERID!! to your own personal Shareasale id.

‘Cyborg Set To Defend Her Title’ Revgear fighter, Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos, looks to keep a firm grip on her title when she meets Dutch fighter, Marloes ‘Rubina’ Coenen on January 30, at Strikeforce: Miami. At the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida, Cyborg (24 y.o.) will be looking to once again pound her opponent when she faces off against submission specialist, Coenen (28 y.o.). This is going to be a battle of completely different types of fighters, as Cyborg uses her immense punching power to finish opponents, and Coenen uses ground grappling and submissions to finish off her opponents. Cyborg (8-1-0) is a member of the famed Chute Boxe Academy, where she works on her Muay Thai skills. She also trains at The Arena with fellow fighters like Diego Sanchez and Xande Ribeiro. Six out of her eight wins have come by (T)KO, and four of those six (T)KOs have been in the first round. The only loss of her career was her first match, and she has since gone on an eight fight win streak. Her last fight being a first-round (T)KO of Gina Carano to become the first ever Strikeforce Women’s Lightweight Champion. Coenen (17-3-0) is a Dutch style submission grappler and started training at a young age because her brothers and grandfather were all involved with martial arts. She started her career off 8-0. After losing that fight, she went on a five fight win streak, and lost to Roxanne Modafferi. After going 3-1 in different organizations, she debuted for Strikeforce against Roxanne Modafferi once again. This time submitting her early in the first round. Of her 17 wins, 12 have been by submission. However, Cybord has a very good ground game herself. She is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Cristiano Marcello, a jiu-jitsu black belt under 9th degree red belt Rickson Gracie. Plus when she is at the The arena, she gets to train with World Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Champions Xande Ribeiro and Rani Yahya.
Coenen will go into the fights with a slight advantage on the ground with her submission skills. However, Cyborg will go into the fight with the obvious advantage in the standing game. I predict that Cyborg will win this fight with a second or third round (T)KO. |
